Hair Porosity

Low Porosity Hairs

Such hair remains wet for a long time and dries for a long time. Drying your hair naturally can take up to 8 hours. The cuticles of low porous hair are straight and almost closed. For this reason, they do not absorb the beneficial properties of the care products poorly. Hair in this category is shiny and reflective. For better hydration of low porous hair, apply the product to wet hair.

Normal Porosity Hairs

As the name suggests, this is the middle between low porous and highly porous hair. Such hair is easier to care for, it is well hydrated, and has a natural shine. Such hair can dry from four to 6 hours in natural conditions.

Highly Porosity Hairs

If your hair dries quickly, you most likely have highly porous hair. The structure of such hair has open scales on the surface. Such hair quickly absorbs moisture and, at the same time, does not retain it well. Such hair is easy to tangle and looks dull. Hair becomes dry within 2 hours in natural conditions. Highly porous hair requires more gentle care to preserve.

Hair Elasticity

Further, you need to check your hair for elasticity. What is it? Hair elasticity is the ability of the hair to stretch and return to its original shape.

How to test hair elasticity yourself? You need to take a lock of hair longer than 5 cm, pull the hair in different directions, and then let it go:

 - hair in a healthy state will easily stretch and return to its original shape. In such hair, is a perfect balance between protein and moisture.

 - hair that is not hydrated enough will stretch with difficulty. It contains a high protein amount, and such hair breaks easily. To make hair in a better state it is necessary to wash off excess protein using water-based products. Besides such locks are needed a live-in conditioner and deep conditioner.

- hair in which there is not enough protein is easy to stretch but is hard to return to its original shape. Such hair is moderately moisturized and contains a low amount of protein. Better to use a product with a protein.
